Latin America comes to London

This year was particularly exciting during London Tech Week with the first edition of LATAM TECH DAY. This event was the focal point of London Tech, showcasing innovations from Latin America, one of the most populated tech-addicted regions of the world with over 690 million Smartphones and Social Media users. 

The fourth Latam Edge Awards closed the LATAM TECH DAY which took place at the Science Museum in London, along with panel discussions from guest speakers and an innovative solutions exhibition.

Russ Shaw founder of Tech London Advocates and Global Tech Advocates, was the keynote speaker and panelist who shared his views on the UK Tech Ecosystem and announced that Tech Mexico Advocates will launch early in 2020. He was joined by Derek Goodwin, Head of Entrepreneurship from DIT, and Gabriela Lemoine from My Hispano Language Advisory.

The panel about Investment in Innovative industries in the UK was brilliantly moderated by Scott Campbell of Deloitte, Francois Mazoudier Serial Investor/Founder & Chairman of TMRW & Délber Lage CEO of SalaryFits Brazilian scale-up PlataformaVerde won the 2019 Latam Edge Award, against three other finalists from Brazil and another from Chile. “With this award, we will dare to be global”, said Chicko Souza, CEO of PlataformaVerde. As part of the Award prize, I will be working with Chicko which will be a fascinating experience. I was also the coach of the previous winners, Round Pegs 2017, and Biomitech 2018 and I look forward to continuing working with them in their expansion into the UK. As a business coach, it’s rewarding to follow closely the progress of these companies and witness the impact of our collaboration together and at the same time be part of Latam Tech Innovation coming to the UK.
