I have a confession to make…
I have always loved writing. I even wrote a book (that doesn't necessarily mean that I'm a good writer, just that I love doing it. : ) Writing in English has always been challenging. The arrival of Google Translate and Grammarly was a great help,
I'm from the generation that grew up with rotary phones, my first computer was a big chunky monitor and I had a green screen, and I used a modem to connect, I still remember the sound,. I also remember setting up my first email, “brick” mobile phones, fax machines, skype, zoom, the social media boom, Linked In, FB, Twitter, Instagram, and many other platforms and apps used socially and for work I lost count. I took like a duck to the water and felt pretty much on top of things about my use of technology. I even worked with a startup when lead gen automation campaigns were still a trend.
When AI arrived I started to experiment, learn, and embrace it just as I did in the past, only to realise that things are moving at such enormous speed that it is no longer possible to keep up. It is like when you are trying to catch a bus or train that starts moving slowly only to run out of steam and feel completely lost as if the bus leaves and is no longer in sight.
Now going back to my writing with AI my writing suddenly transformed and incorporated those smart words, I never use in conversations. It was amazing and cool but something was missing. It dawned on me why it feels weird to read things written with AI. I can't connect with the text. I can no longer find myself in my writing. It all sounds the same there is no soul in the writing (or maybe I just need to work on a more sophisticated agent :)

I'm still in awe of what can be learned, developed, and achieved with the help of AI. However, when it comes to writing I will leave AI and its rabbit hole of never-ending answers and smartness and go back to the perfect imperfection of my own words and thoughts.
And although the bus has left, I have come to the realisation that that's Okay. :)
What has been your experience incorporating the use of AI?
