Surviving as an entrepreneur is not only about the skills and knowledge you have about your business; it is mostly about your mindset and how you adapt to the ever-changing business environment, how you deal with setbacks, and how you keep inspired and inspire others.
Founders who succeed over time are the ones who learn the fastest - not just about product-customer fit but also about themselves and other people. They create agile, learning cultures by leading in sync with their values.
Coaching can help entrepreneurs succeed in key areas:
1) Closing the knowledge gap. - Coaching can significantly benefit businesses at all growth stages. However, in the early phases, many entrepreneurs recognize that they need support but often lack the financial resources to afford it, as their focus is directed toward other critical areas of the business.
Also, it's common for entrepreneurs not to be aware of what they don’t know. This lack of self-awareness can stop them from seeking help or hiring the right people to address their knowledge gaps.
2) Organisational Culture – During the growth stages when you need to expand and identify the right team members .. Your core values are the foundation of your business culture. However, from my experience, many company founders have not clearly defined their core values or established a strong company purpose.
To create a people framework that supports scalability, you must embed your company values into every aspect of your hiring and onboarding processes.
3) Mental Health -Stress from heavy workload, and lack of social support, can create havoc. Below are some of the most common issues entrepreneurs struggle with.
Delegating effectively – Finding ways to do it more quickly, and efficiently and understanding that is a process worth investing your time in as initially can feel like it would be easier to do it yourself. You need to think about the bigger picture and the long-term results of investing the time to train and delegate tasks to others.
Time management – It is not about working hard but working smart. knowing when you are at your best, being aware and using your strengths, network, contacts, delegating, and establishing boundaries with others.
Self-management - The biggest challenge we have as people especially entrepreneurs is the internal battle within ourselves with our own insecurities and personal barriers. If these are not identified and addressed, they will manifest in different areas impacting the business, finances, and people.
